Black Mountain Moving & Home Services ("we", "us") provides moving, cleaning, storage and junk removal services in North York and the Greater Toronto Area. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we need it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Information we collect
When you request a quote or contact us, we collect only what we need in order to answer you and plan the job:
- Your name and how to reach you — phone number and email address
- The pickup and delivery addresses, or the area you are moving within
- Details about the job, such as property type, floor, elevator or stair access, dates and the services you selected
- Anything you choose to write in the notes field
- Photographs you choose to upload, which normally show furniture, rooms or access routes
- Basic technical information recorded by our web server, such as which pages were requested and when
We do not ask for payment details through this website, and you should never send financial information in the notes field.
How we use it
We use your information to prepare and send your quote, to answer your questions, to schedule and carry out the service you requested, and to keep a record of the job. If you ask us to, we also use your contact details to follow up about your request.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Your information stays within our own team. It is shared only where it is genuinely necessary to deliver the service you asked for — for example with a crew member assigned to your job, or with a building's property management when an elevator or loading area has to be reserved. Where we rely on third-party providers such as website hosting or email delivery, they handle information only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Quote requests and job records are kept for as long as we need them for our own accounting and to answer follow-up questions, after which they are deleted. Photographs you upload are stored with the request and deleted on the same schedule.
How it is protected
This website is served over an encrypted connection, and access to quote requests is limited to the members of our team who need it. No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, which is one reason we collect as little as possible.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use advertising cookies and does not build a profile of you. If we use statistics, they are aggregated and do not identify individuals. Your browser may also store small preferences, such as your menu choices, which stay on your own device.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. In Canada these rights come from the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and comparable provincial law. Write to us using the contact details on our contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and revise the date shown above.
